Tiruchirappalli (also called Tiruchi or Trichy) is an ancient city in India's southern Tamil Nadu state. The Kaveri and Kollidam rivers flow around Srirangam Island, which is known for sacred Hindu sites Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, with intricately carved gopurams (towering gateways), and Jambukeswarar-Akilandeswari Temple, dedicated to the god Shiva. Mamallapuram, or Mahabalipuram, is a town on a strip of land between the Bay of Bengal and the Great Salt Lake, in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It’s known for its temples and monuments built by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th and 8th centuries. Pondicherry (or Puducherry), a French colonial settlement in India until 1954, is now a Union Territory town bounded by the southeastern Tamil Nadu state. Its French legacy is preserved in its French Quarter, with tree-lined streets, mustard-colored colonial villas and chic boutiques. A seaside promenade runs along the Bay of Bengal and passes several statues. Madurai is an energetic, ancient city on the Vaigai River in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Its skyline is dominated by the 14 colorful gopurams (gateway towers) of Meenakshi Amman Temple. Covered in bright carvings of Hindu gods, the Dravidian-style temple is a major pilgrimage site. Travel to India and explore the southern heritages like never before.

    ARRIVE Chennai - Mahabalipuram (By surface: 60 Kms/ Approx 1 Hour 30 mins)

     Arrive directly by International connection to Chennai Airport around early morning. Alternatively you can arrive by domestic Airline from Delhi/Mumbai/Kolkata/Bengaluru/Hyderabad pre-noon.

     Meeting and assistance on arrival at Chennai airport. Complete Immigration (if arriving directly by International connection) and transfer to the Mahabalipuram

     Check-in, freshen-up and relax to beat the jetlag.

    Mahabalipuram (Excursion to Kanchipuram)

     Post Breakfast short excursion to Kanchipuram(01 hour 30 mins one way travel) Kanchipuram, also known as Kanchi, is an ancient city in southern India’s Tamil Nadu state. Considered a holy pilgrimage site by Hindus, it is home to many temples. The 8th-century Kailasanathar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is a vast complex with intricate sandstone carvings. Ulagalanda Perumal Temple houses a huge statue of Lord Vishnu. A mango tree in the Ekambareswarar Temple courtyard is thought to be sacred.

     Return to Mahabalipuram and Lunch at restaurant/hotel.

     Post lunch visit to the famous Shore temple of Mahabalipuram. Mamallapuram, or Mahabalipuram, is a town on a strip of land between the Bay of Bengal and the Great Salt Lake, in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The site has 400 ancient monuments and Hindu temples, including one of the largest open-air rock reliefs in the world: the Descent of the Ganges or Arjuna's Penance. It’s known for its temples and monuments built by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th and 8th centuries. The seafront Shore Temple comprises 3 ornate granite shrines. Krishna’s Butter Ball is a massive boulder balanced on a small hill near the Ganesha Ratha stone temple.

    Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (By surface: 100 Kms/ Approx 2 Hours)

     Check-out and transfer to Pondicherry. Pondicherry (or Puducherry or Pondi), a French colonial settlement in India until 1954, is now a Union Territory town bounded by the southeastern Tamil Nadu state.      Post lunch visit the Sri Aurobindo hermitage and The Auroville. Auroville is an experimental community in southern India. It was founded in 1968 by the spiritual leader - Mirra Alfassa who was also the collaborator of Sri Aurobindo, as a town where people from all over the world could live in peace and progressive harmony, above all creeds, all politics and all nationalities. Its focal point is the Matrimandir, a futuristic, spherical temple covered in gold discs. The purpose of Auroville is to realize human unity.

     Enjoy taking a leisure stroll along the promenade in the evening.

    Pondicherry – Trichy via Tanjore/Thanjavur (By surface: Approx 230 Kms/ 5 Hours 30 mins drive and 02 hours for visit)

     Check-out and transfer to Tiruchirappalli with en-route visit to Tanjore.

     Arrive Tanjore and visit the main places of torist importance. Thanjavur is a city in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu and an important center of South Indian religion, art, and architecture. Most of the Great Living Chola Temples, which are UNESCO World Heritage Monuments, are located in and around Thanjavur. Its many temples include the 11th-century Brihadeeswarar Temple, a vast Chola dynasty–era complex with a frescoed interior. Thanjavur Maratha Palace is home to the centuries-old Saraswathi Mahal Library, with palm-leaf manuscripts, and Thanjavur Art Gallery, with bronze statues.

     Post lunch proceed to Tiruchirappalli(formerly known as Trichinoply) or Trichy in short which is at distance of approx. 60kms.

    Trichy – Madurai via Karaikudi (By surface: Approx 200 Kms/ 5 Hours drive and 03 hours for visit)

     Check-out and visit Srirangam which hosts the famous Sriranganathaswamy temple, one of the most illustrious Vaishnava temples in South India rich in legend and history.

     Later proceed to Karaikudi. Karaikudi is a corporation in Sivaganga district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is part of the area commonly referred to as "Chettinad" and has been declared a heritage town by the Government of Tamil Nadu,[1] on account of the palatial houses built with limestone called karai veedu.

     Lunch at the famous ‘Bangala’. The Bangala is the first Heritage Hotel in Karaikudi, Chettinad – a family-run hotel that combines traditional Chettiar hospitality with modern amenities. Chettiar hospitality is legendary. A stranger is welcomed, a guest is fussed over and any occasion is reason for a feast. It is this lavish everyday spreads that has made Chettinad a culinary experience in its own right across the world.

     Post an experience of sumptuous local flavored lunch, proceed to Madurai.
